It all really depends on how the gear system works in GW2. If it functions like GW1, then I hope that we get new universal armor pieces (like flaming gloves and glasses in GW1).

KOABD: for each rank of KOABD, you start with 10 gold on your first character.
Something like that would be cool. No sarcasm, I hate it when people think they "deserve" something because of all the hours they spent in a different game. Having HoM give significant rewards in GW2 would be a sureshot way to turn off new customers. The difference between a brand new GW2 user and one who has spent 20,000 hours in GW1 should be roughly the same as the difference between a standard edition of a game and collector's edition.

what do I want? well, to be realistic, I'd think:

Weapons monument:
for each destroyer weapon in the HoM of the ancestor of the character you get 1 redeemable relic (upon typing /inherit maybe?) to trade at a weapons crafter, sort of like the books for the BMP. Weapons would be completely customised to the character so it can't be traded, and can't be created more than once. This would let you have bonus weapons, but lets you choose that of your primary profession instead of just what you had in your HoM.

Armour monument:
This one I will be very interested in seeing the outcome of. I would perhaps expect something similar to the weapons idea. Receiving 1 redeemable armour remnant for each set you have on display on your ancestors HoM. This would give you up to a maximum of 5 armour remants for your character to trade with an armour NPC. This corresponds well with the 5 armour pieces each set has and would let you choose what piece you want if you don't have 5.

Hero monument:
well, since it's more of a companion monument, I would think for each hero/pet in the ancestors HoM you should have an extra customisation option for your GW2 companion (ie. face, armour, hair, dye, etc.). Afterall, it is hero customisation that lets you put them in there to start with.

Minipet monument:
personally I'd rather not see minipets in GW2 since the zones will be a lot larger and they'd be all over the place. As for having bonuses for having things like 20+ minipets in your monument is unreasonable as there is not enough supply of mini's to meet that demand for every GW1 player. Thinking about it, you'd have to have 9 2 year old characters 2 festival mini's, all different, on the one character to fulfill that requirement without going to out of game sources (magazines, competitions, limited edition mini's etc).
Anyways, what do I expect for having mini's in my HoM? Maybe have them as collectibles as part of a GW2 minigame. Not sure what minigames they have planned for GW2, but taking the example of Final Fantasy 8 card game, you could for example get the card to start with corresponding to the minipet you had. this way the rare minipets still correspond to something rare, and the common minipets are still worthwhile. This would also account for the large number of different minipets.

Title monument:
There's just too many monuments available there to start with. I think for each statue you have for this monument you should get a skill token to trade for a skill. legendary titles should count for 3. For PvP titles I think for each rank of each title should correspond to a skill unlock. For KoaBD title I think there should be something like the divine aura for emotes.

I would love that, but doubt it'll happen. I would assume those HoM achievements will be tied to a GW2 character of that same name. I'm just hoping they DO NOT take it so far as the character of the same name also has to be the same class as it's GW1 counter-part.

My biggest fear: having achievements lumped together and getting a general GW2 reward. Example: say I have the 20 most common minipets dedicated (pig/wallow/troll/etc). I should NOT get the same GW2 reward as someone who dedicated the 20 rarest minipets. There needs to be a clear distinction in the reward given in GW2.

Armor: I would love if individual armor unlocked individual armor. Example: having FoW armor in GW1 would unlocked a unique rare set of armor in GW2. But i'm afraid for the same reason as above.

I'm scared that it will turn out to be: say you have ANY 5 sets of armor dedicated, you get reward 'a' in GW2. Dedicate any 10 sets, you'll get 'a+b' reward. I do realize it would be a major pain to create ~12 armor sets (per class) that would only be usable via GW1 HoM unlocks. So i'm not sure how to make this work realistically.

DO NOT LUMP REWARDS

for dedicating ('a' or 'b' or 'x' or 'y' or 'z') I DO NOT want reward 'w'

for dedicating 'x1' (armor/minipet/whatever) I do want reward 'x2'
for dedicating 'y1' I do want reward 'y2'
etc

Here's what I expect for the HoM and GW2:

Another botched job and a ton of b****ing about how Anet botched the HoM twice and how people were expecting it to be a lot better.

I expect explorable area's to be availlable in HM only if you have the VQ tittle maxed for the same continent displayed in your HoM.

I expect missions to be availlable in HM only if you have the guardian tittle for the same continent.

I expect all allegiance tittles to give double points if you have the tittle maxed in the HoM. The Npc's will remember your legendary grandfather and they'll give you double points because of that.

I expect your graphics to be blurry all the time if you have the drunkard tittle maxed.

I expect your characters to be fat and slow if you have the sweets tittle maxed.

I think the anti-title jokes in this thread are great. I, however, am indeed a title grinder when my guild isn't PvPing. I haven't given much thought to GW2 as I will still be playing GW1 for a long time, but I have often wondered "What could this maxed out drinking title POSSIBLY earn me in GW2? Immunity to alcohol poison that has been built up over time by my 250-years-past ancestor?" I like odly's idea that a maxed sweets title can make you fat and slow. ^_^

I agree that any benefits in GW2 stemming from past legendary status in GW1 should not disadvantage new players (or players who never purchased GW:EN) but I do think it would be nice to see some exciting cosmetic things. Not necessarily "useful" things, but still something that looks cool for some players to show off to others who can't get it.

As far as linking character names to a new character of the same profession, I agree this should not tie you down. Sometimes I wish my mesmer had been a necro or monk because sometimes I'm restricted when trying to get into groups for dungeons and whatnot. I'm glad she is a mesmer for PvP purposes, but in roleplaying not everyone understands how effective mesmers can actually be. But I've read that GW2 will likely have all new professions, and each profession will even be able to solo to some extent so I don't think I'll have to worry. (Sorry if this post started getting a little bit off topic!)
